I'm a Registered Midwife and Registered Nurse, Certificated Lactation Consultant and an Institute of Sensitive Sleep accredited sleep consultant.
I have been supporting mothers and babies learn to feed and sleep for many years as a registered midwife and nurse and Lactation Consultant in a hospital environment and have now moved to helping out families in their home environment through lactation and sleep consultation services.
My aim is to help empower parents through evidence-based education to establish a happy, healthy feeding and sleeping pattern.
I come to you so that you can practice the methods I teach you in your own home, using systems that work with your home set-up. Practising these processes under supervision means that you can successfully repeat them when you are alone with your baby.
I believe in using well researched and expert medical opinions to support my advice to parents; and conduct my visits with a focus on teaching parents how to achieve success in feeding and sleeping patterns themselves.
Through comprehensive assessments, providing one-on-one education, supported by resources so parents can refresh themselves on their newly learned skills, I like to follow-up to confirm learning, and to provide peace of mind that you are doing the best for your baby in a way that suits your family and parenting style.
Sleep Consultation Home Visits
I provide you a sleep plan, following the Institute of Sensitive Sleep program, and demonstrate how to implement sleep strategies using the furniture and equipment in your home.
Lactation Consultant Home Visits
I provide IBCLC-accredited lactation consultancy in your home, demonstrating methods to achieve a good latch, support milk supply and implement a feeding plan that works for you and your baby.
I can provide you a lactation and sleep consultation via zoom, if it isn't possible to visit you in person.
After I had my son, the midwives in the hospital had given me a few points about breastfeeding but within a few weeks I still didn't have the hang of it and was ready to quit!
Kathy came highly recommended to us from some good friends so I got in touch with her.
She came to my home for a home visit the next day.
Straight away she had and answer for us. After her first visit I started to really enjoy my breastfeeding journey and my son was gaining weight well.
Kathy messages me regularly to check in on our little family (including when we got Covid).
Kathy is also helping us understand our sons sleeping habits. Kathy is worth her weight in gold!

“Kathy was excellent - she was consistent and provided me judgment-free advice that helped me work out how to breastfeed and self-settle my baby. As a first time mum I appreciated her down-to-earth style and hints and tips on sleep and feeding styles that hadn't occurred to me.”
